The TCDA-IBF SUMMER INTENSIVE will take place in two air-conditioned studios, in a building equipped for all the needs of the dancer in Sacramento, USA as well as in Arles, FRANCE.


Program

Classical ballet, Pointe technique, Variations / Repertoire, Pas de deux, Men's technique, Contemporary, Lecture courses
Enrollment USA & France (for 10+yo) / Intermediate - NO AUDITION REQUIRED
(a minimum of 2 years of prior ballet training required)

Should a student be 12+ year of age, they may choose to audition (details below) for the upper level. The final decision will be made by the Director in the best interest of the student

Placement is limited

Auditions for the advanced level are conducted by a recent pre-recorded video. To audition, complete the online registration form including the recent video-link of your dancing, and submit the registration fee via Venmo (TCDA-IBF)

The video should incorporate either a variation from the classical repertoire OR center exercises ONLY (no barre): tendu, adage, pirouette en dehors & en dedans, small, middle, and grand allegro (jumps). Girls should incorporate a pointe enchainment with pirouettes

Audition videos are only viewed once the registration fee, registration form, and photos have been received. Incomplete applications will result in the applicants being placed on the waiting list

Once accepted, placement is only guaranteed in conjunction with payment of registration and tuition in full and all materials received

Scholarships

Scholarships may be awarded at the conclusion of the TCDA-IBF Summer Intensive to professional dance programs in the United States and Europe
Refund Policy
*TCDA-IBF has a no-refund policy on payments received for registration and tuition.
You may consider obtaining insurance to protect your summer program costs. Insurance information may be available through general industry channels. You are encouraged to research all available options.
*Should the program be canceled by the organizer due to exceptional circumstances, a full refund will be issued.
Performance

Each year, in the United States TCDA-IBF culminates with a public performance, which may include class-demonstrations, variations, repertoire, and original choreography in various genres

Dress Code
Girls
-
Any color leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, pointe shoes (when applicable), hair in tight bun
-
For the Gala and photo shoot: black leotard with spaghetti straps, pink tights, pink ballet and/or pointe shoes - as advised, hair in tight bun - no part)

For contemporary class, dancers may need to be bare foot
Boys
-
White, tight T-shirt or leotard, gray or black tights or trunk dance shorts, white ankle socks with white ballet shoes, or black ankle socks with black ballet shoes

For the Gala and photo shoot: white, tight T-shirt or leotard with cap sleeve, black tights, black ankle socks

For contemporary class, dancers may need to be bare foot
Lodging in the United States
-
Our first living option is residency at a local hotel where special rates apply for TCDA-IBF Summer Intensive attendees, their families and guests. The hotel is within walking distance to malls, restaurants, and activities:
2 bedroom suite, 2 bathrooms, 700 sqft, Breakfast, Pool, fully equipped kitchen (includes fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, dish cleaning supplies, pots, pans, serving dishes, silverware, glasses),
3 TVs, WIFI, Fireplace, Workout facility, Transportation
5 students / 1 chaperone: $350 per week, per person
(includes all fee & taxes)
OR:
1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 500 sqft, Breakfast, Pool, kitchenette (includes fridge, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher,
dish cleaning supplies, pots, pans, serving dishes, silverware, glasses), TV, WIFI, Workout facility, Transportation
3 students / 1 chaperone: $410 per week, per person

Our second living option is College-dorms. Upon request, you shall receive information about availability and fees estimates via email

*Our third living option is "Home Stay", where local families welcome TCDA-IBF students to live as one of the family. The families are friends and cultural contacts of TCDA. Home Stay is a good option for our younger students, as many families have children who are dancers and are participating in the TCDA Summer Program. All of the houses have kitchens so students can cook their meals or their host family provides meals for them. Furniture and linens are provided in each room. Students experience all the comforts of home while living with a host family. Upon request, you shall receive information about availability and fees via e-mail

*Please note that TCDA-IBF may not be able to guarantee family "Home-Stay" housing for all accepted students, and that placement is based on completion of forms and payment received in chronological order
Travel Plans and Airport Pickup in the United States

Students attending TCDA-IBF are responsible for making their own travel plans. However, you may contact us for guidance

Upon arrival at the Sacramento Airport, a TCDA-IBF staff member will greet each student and accompany them to where they will be lodged

Please note that dancers wishing to be picked-up and dropped-off from/at the Sacramento Airport should arrive no more than two days before the start date of the program, and leave within two days thereafter. For special requests beyond the two-day frame, contact us to check availability

Students arriving at the San Francisco Airport are responsible for booking their own transportation to Sacramento. TCDA-IBF can assist by providing guidance in picking the most convenient and safe transportation between San Francisco Airport and Sacramento

A TCDA-IBF representative may accommodate roundtrip transportation for up to 3 students at a time from San Francisco / San Jose / Oakland - Airports for a flat rate of $200 (total)
Lodging in France
Our living option is residency at a local hotel where special rates apply for TCDA-IBF Summer Intensive attendees, their families and guests.
For students traveling by themselves, TCDA-IBF will provide a chaperone who will be available throughout the Summer Intensive, including at the hotel.
Accommodation is $432/week for a shared room per student.
Meals can be prepared and provided for $30/day.
The chaperone will be taking the students to and from the studio as well as to any other outing planned by TCDA-IBF.

Travel Plans and Pickup in France

Day Students
-
Students who live locally or who have family or friends living in the area can attend the TCDA-IBF program as day students. Day students attend the program during the morning or afternoon hours and then go home
Living Expenses
-
Students can decide how much money they need for their stay based on their personal living preferences. Students may need additional money for groceries, shopping, restaurants, excursions, and personal expenses

Students have emergency contact persons whom they may reach for assistance with any problems they may encounter while participating in the Festival. Parents are also provided with contacts that they can call in case of an emergency or with questions
Activities
-
Outings are intended to give students a well-deserved rest, allow them time to connect and interact, and explore the city and its surroundings

All group outings are chaperoned by TCDA-IBF staff members

For those who wish to participate in the outings, there will be an additional cost. Once the activities are finalized, the price will be determined and you will be informed of the details no later than June 1
